Common Questions
My computer prompted “Scan and Fix” when I inserted the USB — what do I do?
Always click Cancel or Continue without scanning. Never allow Windows to scan or fix the drive. The ML model files are binary files that Windows does not recognise, but they are not corrupt. Scanning can permanently delete them. See the TradeMAV Quick Start Guide for full USB safety instructions.
What does the Confidence % on a signal actually mean?
Confidence is the ML ensemble’s conviction score — it represents how closely the current market setup matches historical setups that generated profitable outcomes. A 90% confidence signal does not mean a 90% probability of winning. It means a 90% match to the model’s winning pattern library. See the Advanced Strategy Guide for the full breakdown.
How do I get signals on my phone without leaving the dashboard open?
Set up Ntfy.sh (free, no account needed) or Telegram in the Config → Notify tab. Ntfy.sh is the fastest: download the Ntfy app, create a topic name in TradeMAV, subscribe to it in the app. Signals will push to your phone instantly without the dashboard needing to be visible.
ForexMAV signals fire at 3 AM — do I need to be awake?
No. Enable phone notifications (Ntfy.sh or Telegram) so signals wake you only when a high-confidence opportunity fires. You can also enable the Session Filter in Config → Global Filters to restrict signal generation to the London and NY sessions (peak liquidity hours) so you only receive signals during hours you are awake.
Why is my win rate lower than the signal’s reported win rate?
The reported win rate is a walk-forward backtested figure — tested on out-of-sample data, but still historical. Real-world slippage, executing at a different price than the signal’s entry price, and fundamental market regime changes can all reduce live win rates. Use the Performance tab to compare your actual results against the model’s predictions, and retrain the model weekly by keeping your USB plugged in on Sunday evenings.
Can I use TradeMAV for Indian stocks (NSE / BSE)?
Yes. Add tickers with the exchange suffix: RELIANCE.NS for NSE, RELIANCE.BO for BSE. Set your Exchange Preset in Config to NSE or BSE so the screener respects Indian market hours (9:15 AM – 3:30 PM IST). TradeMAV supports 25,000+ global tickers including the full NSE and BSE. When does the ML model retrain and how do I trigger it manually?
Automatic retraining runs every Sunday at 8:00 PM ET while the forex market is closed. To trigger it manually: go to Config → Maintenance → Retrain ML Model. The retrain takes 10–30 minutes. Keep your USB drive inserted throughout the process. If you retrain too frequently (more than once per week) without sufficient new signal data, the model will not improve meaningfully.
